The Sox have shipped Nomar to the Cubs in a four-team deal and ended up with shortshop Orlando Cabrera and first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz. Are the Sox better off?

Page 32 This is the sadest day in Red Sox land. Troy, Brooklin, Maine Theo butchered this one. The improvements defensively will be far outweighed by the offensive sacrifice they just suffered. Not to mention Nomar is one of the only guys that came up thru the red sox organization. He was the most popualr player of the last two decades and never gave less than a 100%. It's a sad day for the Nation. George , Tampa Speed, defense and pitching have consistently been what wins championships. I LOVE Nomar but this team was going nowhere with him. 65 or so un earned runs has killed this team. Something had to be done and this will help. Has anyone been watching this team in the field? They were horrible. Also the Nation should realize this guy didn't want to be here. He was walking at the end of the season and the Sox would have got nothing. People should check out the overall stats for these two players over the last 3 years.
