I am so sad and disgusted. Nomar go hit a homar with the Cubbies. May the management, fans and media treat you appropriately in Chicago. Many thanks for all you have given the Sox, the game and the city of Boston. Theo, go away, and take your new trades and micro-statistical-management style with you. You are a terrible role model for the sport of baseball. One of the few players left who emulate the soul and spirit of baseball has been panished from the RedSox . How appropo for this organization to have made such a decision.

Yes the Sox are better off. More flexibility on the roster, the payroll, and better defense. The way the players move around makes it impossible for me to care about the players. Why does anybody care who is on the Red Sox roster if and when the Sox finally win a World Series?

I cannot belive he did that stupid move he thinks they will gain money by trading nomar....what about all the fans that will stop coming to Fenway because they came just to see Nomar play how ya like that Theo

This is a bad trade. The Yankees win championships because they get the best players; the Red Sox run them out of town. Nomar was mistreated by management and the media, neither one of which ever played a meaningful game. The Red Sox will miss Nomar and all he did for the community. He is a hero to so many kids in New England. If this is MoneyBall, you have to ask if it's worth it. The Sox are not better off with this trade. Francona and Lowe should have been dealt.

As much as I hate to see the sox loose a player of Nomar's calibar. I do not believe they intended to re-sign him after this season so all in all it was a good decision. I would have prefered some pitching help.

had to be....Nomar was offered a great salary and he thumbs his nose. 60 mil in 4 years with his defense and lackluster playoff , If he wanted to be here he would have grabbed it.

This trade was stupid. Nomar as least hustled. His agent did him a big disservice not only did he lose 60 mil for him but probably cooperstown as well. And to include Murton well so much for the restocking of the minors as promised. John Henry get yourself a new GM.

Nomah was getting to be a whiney baby and bad for the team dynamic. His contract is up next year and they would lose him anyway, might as well get something for him...but did they? No.
