Last season's "Cowboy Up" rally cry is dead and buried, but other themes -- like Red Sox hitting coach Papa Jack's slogan "Somebody Gotta Pay" and Kevin Millar's "Skin it to Win It" (regarding shaving heads again) -- have been bandied about for this squad. So far, though, nothing has stuck. What do you think the 2004 Red Sox battle cry should be? We'll post your ideas and pick our top 10 on Friday. One of my favorite quotes is what a Marine Captain said to a British officer in World War one, as the Brit ran by the ranks of Marines just arriving on the battlefield, in full retreat to the Germans. The Brit advised the Marines, "Retreat, the Germans are right on my heels" and the Marine Captains reply: "RETREAT HELL, WE JUST GOT HERE!" We all know the rest of that story. Tghis could go along with the Red Sox attitude this year, when all the fair weather fans thought they were done in August, the Sox hung in there and played the best ball of the season. Or, how about this, "HOW YOU LIKE US NOW?"
