Give the Sox a battle cry

Last season's "Cowboy Up" rally cry is dead and buried, but other themes -- like Red Sox hitting coach Papa Jack's slogan "Somebody Gotta Pay" and Kevin Millar's "Skin it to Win It" (regarding shaving heads again) -- have been bandied about for this squad. So far, though, nothing has stuck.

What do you think the 2004 Red Sox battle cry should be? We'll post your ideas and pick our top 10 on Friday.

Well, Larry Lucchino might suggest staying with the "Star Wars" theme, so how about the title of the original film, episode IV, "A New Hope."

Battle cries are for the weak and go down in history as "remember saying 'Cowboy Up!' and how stupid it sounded, but we said it anyway, and it still didn't work!" I say stick with the favorite: "YANKEES SUCK!"
