One down ...

Wow! What a way to start a series. The Sox couldn’t have scripted a better opening to the postseason than their 9-3 pounding of the Angels on Tuesday afternoon. If you’re like us, you’re walking with a little more bounce in your step today. Talk about the victory, but try not to gloat too much. OK, gloat all you want. Pedro pitches Game 2, care to make any predictions for that one?

The Sox will be the perfect Colon-cleanser! I'm guessing 8 runs before the 6th.

Ryan, Bourne

Altogether a great game. Of course the great hitting and pitching but how about Millar's defence gem and also Mintkiewicz squeeze bunt hit and RBI. Even the ESPN announcers were amazed.

I really like the way Timlin came in last night and shut the door. He looked like the Timlin of last year who stepped it up in the playoffs and who should have been in at the end of the game....ah forget that is over. There are plenty of things that the Sox will need to win this thing and certainly Timlin is only one part of many, but still like the way he looked. Pedro pitches into the seventh with the lead, then is relieved by the pen( FINALLY!) for the win.

Pedro will give up a few runs (best case senario) The sox just need to pound Colon some more, and we should fly into Boston w/a 2-0 lead :)

Good Effort and great way to start off a series.Take the game away from the Angels and take the fans out of it early as well.. GO BOSTON... DO us proud!!!

Pedro will rise to the occasion in Game 2, quieting all naysayers by pitching a near gem of a game, capped off by Foulke striking out the side in the 9th. David Ortiz will provide the main offensive firepower for the Sox in a 10-1 drubbing of the Angels.

Jeff, Newton

The most exciting offensive part of the game yesterday was not the (2) home runs, it was the 2 out bunt by Mientkiewicz to score Damon. If the Red Sox want to go all the way, they have play some small ball Unfortunately Mientkiewicz will probably be benched for his skills !

Kevin, Portland, Maine

Pedro will look like dermie the hermie tonight and the Angels will win. No need to worry though as the Red Sox will dominate the next 2 games and take the series.

Beezer, Charlton, MA

It was one game. No more, no less. It was Schilling (Cy Young candidate, top 3 pitcher in AL) vs. Washburn (middle of rotation, average starter). It was a mismatch from the get-go. The rest of the starting pitching matchups are much more equal and therefore the remainder of the series will be a battle. Let's wait on the parade plans a bit...

Hoss, Boston

Two words for Pedro's start tonight, NO EXCUSES ! He's well rested and the pressure is on the Angels. He should have a big night tonight. It's the playoffs. No more holding anything back.
