The commercial that Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka filmed in Japan for Asahi Super Dry beer a little over a month ago, wearing a Red Sox uniform for the first time, has hit the web.
My favorite part has to be where he’s pounding the beer as if it were a glass of milk. This is the kind of thing you usually see in a Nestea ad, right before they plunge into the pool. And does it get any more dramatic than the flowing jersey, accompanied by [insert generic alt band here]? For a moment, I swore I was watching a modern send-up of TLC’s “Creep” video.
Matsuzaka also filmed an ad (sans Boston jersey) for Toyota. I know because it says “Toyota” at the end ... and nowhere else. And why are there no cars?
