Unless you've been in a cave for the past month, or just simply a native of Shelbyville, it's no news that The Simpsons hit the big screen this week in what Entertainment Weekly calls "one of the most anticipated films since the concept of ever was invented." How's that for a slice of hype?
Previously the most anticipated event since ever was created was our own backyard baseball team winning a World Series. And now, “The Simpsons Movie.”
In any case, seeing that their respective places are entwined in history, we figured it'd be worth some time with the new "Simpsonizeme" site -- face recognition software that allows you to create your own Simpsons lookalike -- to create the equivalents for some of the members of the 2007 Red Sox. Some came out rather nicely. Others ... well, you might remember how Tom Brady appeared on the show back in 2005, lame enough that animators had to write "Brady" across his sweatshirt so you'd get the hint.
