About her: North Reading’s Alex Carpenter, at just 19, is already one of the up-and-coming stars of USA Hockey. The forward won gold at the World Championships with the US in 2013 and has been a standout in her first two years at Boston College, totalling 54 goals and 56 assists in 72 games for the Eagles. Carpenter has played 31 games for the US national team, tallying 22 goals and 15 assists. She played her high school hockey at Governors Academy, where she racked up 239 goals and 188 assists in just 100 games, leading the school to four straight New England Division 2 championships.
Decision time: The official roster for the US women’s hockey team will be announced in late December.
