The New York Yankees acquired pitcher Shawn Chacon from the Colorado Rockies for two minor league pitchers last night, filling the remaining opening in their injury-ravaged rotation. Earlier in the day, Kevin Brown went on the disabled list for the 14th time in his career, and the pitcher will go to California to be examined by back expert Dr. Robert Watkins, who operated on Brown, 40, in June 2002, to repair a disk in the pitcher's lower back.
