BERLIN (Reuters) - German figure skating coach Ingo Steuer won a temporary injunction on Tuesday against a ban for working with the East German Stasi security police.

Steuer had taken legal action against a decision by the national figure skating association (DEU) to ban him from coaching German pair Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy.

On Tuesday a Munich court granted an injunction allowing Steuer to coach the pair for a Nebelhorn trophy tournament starting on Thursday.

If the DEU and Steuer do not reach a settlement, Steuer will have to seek legal intervention before each appearance.

The German National Olympic Committee tried to ban Steuer from attending this year's Turin Olympics after a government agency said he had worked for the Stasi.
