Local gymnasts excel in Ohio

The rhythmic gymnastics program at the New England Sports Academy in Westwood recently competed in the Junior Olympic Championships in Ohio.

Eight gymnasts representing NESA participated in the event. Hana Colwell of Franklin earned the best finish of the group, placing eighth in the all around at Level 6 and fourth in the hoop routine. Julia Wang and Andrea Chirieac of Newton each tied for eighth in the clubs. The NESA group was part of Region 4, which won the overall event in a competition featuring 140 gymnasts at levels 6, 7, and 8.
