Williams ready to go with Dolphins

Ricky Williams's reinstatement is complete, with the winless Miami Dolphins saying yesterday they'll welcome him back on the field beginning Monday. Coach Cam Cameron decided to let Williams rejoin the team after they met yesterday. Wednesday, the NFL lifted Williams's 1 1/2-year suspension for violating the league's drug policy. As part of the NFL drug program, Williams, 30, underwent therapy for the past 5 1/2 months in Boston. He declined to discuss the treatment, but said he was confident drug testing won't derail his latest comeback. "I'm at a place now where it's easier for me to appreciate being a football player. I hated being a football player before." . . . Trent Dilfer will start for the 49ers Sunday in place of quarterback Alex Smith, who has been bothered by shoulder and forearm injuries.

Redskins receiver Brandon Lloyd will miss the rest of the season after being placed on injured reserve. He suffered a broken collarbone during practice Wednesday . . . Cardinals starting cornerback Eric Green was on crutches after he injured his left ankle in practice, further weakening a secondary that could be without Pro Bowl safety Adrian Wilson (heel) for Sunday's game at Cincinnati . . . Jets receiver Laveranues Coles expects to play Sunday against Pittsburgh after missing one game with a concussion . . . Denver safety John Lynch said he should be ready to play against Tennessee Monday night after going through a full-contact practice for the first time in weeks. David Ferrer, ranked No. 6, overwhelmed No. 8 Richard Gasquet, 6-1, 6-1, to win the Gold Group and clinch a semifinal berth in the Masters Cup in Shanghai. Lorena Ochoa was in the lead at the ADT Championship in West Palm Beach, Fla., until a quadruple bogey on the 17th hole sent her tumbling down the leaderboard. Christina Kim and Mi Hyun Kim shared the lead after both turned in bogey-free rounds of 5-under-par 67, one shot ahead of Juli Inkster and Paula Creamer.
