Boston College has an agreement in principle to add Central Florida to its 2008 schedule. The Knights will replace Army. It would be a home game for the Eagles, who were originally scheduled to play at Army Sept. 13. BC is to visit Central Florida in 2011.MARK BLAUDSCHUN

New department will probe drug use
Major League Baseball launched a department of investigations, a permanent branch of the commissioner's office responsible for looking into drug use in the sport. Adopting another of George Mitchell's recommendations, MLB is establishing a tip line for team employees to make the commissioner's office aware of violations of drug, betting, and other rules. It was unclear whether the activities the unit could participate in would have to be negotiated with the players' association . . . Free agent outfielder Mike Cameron and the Milwaukee Brewers reached a preliminary agreement on a $7 million, one-year contract that includes a club option for 2009. Cameron, who turned 35 earlier this month, is suspended for the first 25 games of next season after testing positive a second time for a banned stimulant . . . The home of the Cleveland Indians will be called Progressive Field as part of a naming rights deal with car insurance company NBA
Pacers' Harrison suspended five games
Pacers center David Harrison was suspended for five games without pay by the NBA for violating the league's anti-drug program . . . The US men's volleyball team qualified for the Beijing Olympics by beating Puerto Rico, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20, in the final of the NORCECA Continental Olympic Qualifying Championship in Caguas, Puerto Rico.
