Phillies righthander Brett Myers will have hip surgery, and he could miss the rest of the season, the team announced yesterday. General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said Myers has a torn labrum and no date has been set for surgery. The Phillies said Myers (4-3, 4.66 ERA), who was placed on the 15-day disabled list after last night's game, could begin throwing 10-12 weeks after the operation and it would be another 3-6 weeks before the pitcher would be ready for game action . . . Suspended slugger Manny Ramirez should skip the All-Star Game even if he's voted in by fans, Dodgers manager Joe Torre said. Despite Ramirez's 50-game suspension for violating baseball's drug policy, he is fourth among outfielders in the latest voting totals. Ramirez is due to return July 3 . . . Outfielder Carlos Quentin, who led the White Sox in home runs last season, went on the 15-day DL with plantar fasciitis in his left foot . . . The Cardinals placed Khalil Greene on the 15-day DL because of social anxiety disorder, with both sides agreeing it was the best option for the struggling shortstop, who is batting .200 with 2 home runs and 14 RBIs in 38 games . . . Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who has missed two games with tightness in his right groin, said he expects to return to the starting lineup today against the Mets.
