Harvard, USC win titles at Crew Classic

SAN DIEGO—Harvard has won the Copley Cup for men and Southern California the Jessop-Whittier Cup for women at the San Diego Crew Classic.
Harvard posted a time of 6 minutes, 17.88 seconds over the 2,000-meter course on Sunday for its ninth Copley Cup win and its first win in San Diego since 1994. Harvard beat defending champion California, Navy, Cornell, Stanford and Michigan in the final.
Two-time defending champion USC won in 7:03.93, defeating Virginia, Washington, California, UCLA and Stanford. It was the Trojans' fourth title since 2007.
