Sports Illustrated cover jinx?

When Sports Illustrated put Team USA skier Lindsey Vonn (middle) on its cover before the start of the last Winter Olympics with the headline 'America's Best Woman Skier Ever,' believers in the magazine's so-called 'cover jinx' probably cringed. Many an athlete has graced the cover only to face adversity in the days or weeks following. Check out these athletes who have seen their fortunes turn following a stint on the SI cover. We'll focus mostly on cover jinxes with local connections, but throw in a couple of old-school jinxes for good measure.
