Rob Denoncourt of Nantucket put a 106-pound buck in his pickup truck at a deer weigh-in station in Nantucket on Dec. 1, 2009.

"I was in a blind at 6 a.m. Two of them went up to me right after sunup. He came up to me and when he was 50-60 yards away, I got off a good shot. One shot. I've been doing this for the last 35 years. I eat venison all the time. I make venison franchese. I pound it, then fry it in chicken broth and add parmesan cheese and bread crumbs. Then I make linguine and clam sauce. I've never had a problem [with the anti-hunting crowd]. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion in life. They do what they've got to do and I do what I have to do. I respect the land and the surroundings. All I know is I've got food in the freezer all winter long and that's a good feeling."
