In 2005 Florian was cast on the first season of Spike TV's "The Ultimate Fighter". Florian outlasted 14 other competitors and advanced all the way to the final bout against Diego Sanchez. Although Sanchez came out victorious, Florian's exposure propelled him into UFC popularity and guaranteed future fights.
