Jose OffermanThe former two-time All-Star and Red Sox utilityman turned violent in Aug. 2007. Hit by a fastball, Offerman charged the mound with his bat and struck Bridgeport Bluefish catcher John Nathans in the head with a bat during the minor league game. Offerman, playing for the Long Island Ducks, was arrested on assault charges. A court subsequently forced Offerman into anger-management treatment. Nathans sued Offerman in 2009, seeking $4.8 million in damages, saying the attack left him with permanent injuries that ended his career.
