Finn sailor Zach Railey (Clearwater, Fla.) defended his silver medal position in the final, double-points medal race sailed today in over 20 knots of winds and large seas. He finished fifth place in the 10-boat race and covered his closest competitor to ensure his position. After yesterday’s medal race was called off halfway due to lack of wind, today’s stormy conditions brought a contrast to the racing. The gold medal went to Ben Ainslie of Great Britain, his third Olympic gold and fourth Olympic medal overall. France’s Guillaume Florent won the bronze medal.
