WIMBLEDON, England—Defending champion Petra Kvitova cruised into the fourth round of Wimbledon on Saturday, routing Varvara Lepchenko of the United States 6-1, 6-0 in less than hour.
Kvitova has yet to drop a set this week and won the first five games of the match to take firm control against the American. She broke Lepchenko six times overall before serving out the match to complete the victory in 53 minutes.
The fourth-seeded Czech will next face Francesca Schiavone, who beat Klara Zakopalova.
The 53rd-ranked Lepchenko reached the fourth round of the French Open this year but only won 13 of 35 points on her serve against Kvitova.![]()
