Going fishing? Be sure to bring sunscreen and sun glasses, plus warm clothes, and snug shoes with grippy soles. If you're prone to motion sickness, remember to take your medication. Many charters encourage you to bring your own snacks and refreshments. Others will supply those items. Ask beforehand. Small charters typically provide rod, reel, tackle, and bait as part of the trip fee (captains and mates will fillet and ice your fish; bring an ice chest). Larger boats generally offer rods and reels for a small rental cost. Full story for BostonGlobe.com subscribers.
