Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia today won the American League's Most Valuable Player. Pedroia is a unique ballplayer, and not just because of his giant swing and slashing line drives. Listed at 5 feet, 9 inches (and rumored to be shorter), Pedroia ranks as one of the smaller athletes to garner MVP consideration. But he isn't the only one -- scroll through this gallery to see other athletes who made a big impact with despite their modest size.
