With their Game 7 win over the Indians, the Sox became the 12th team in big-league history to win a best-of-seven (or best-of-nine) series after trailing 3 games to 1. Red Sox teams have done it three times -- 1986, 2004, and 2007. Daisuke Matsuzaka was the game-winning pitcher, going five and allowing both runs. Dustin Pedroia provided the offense, singling and scoring the first run and hitting a two-run homer, giving the Sox a 5-2 lead in the seventh. Beckett, winner of two games in the series, won the MVP.
