While we're at it, the Red Sox didn't do themselves any favors during the season's first month, either. The Sox began the season 0-6, then got to 2-10 before turning this around. The so-called best team ever raised eyebrows with an opening-series sweep in Texas (pictured), and now we know that players like Jon Lester may have been fat and happy before the season started. Take away the season's first and last months, and your Red Sox were the best team in baseball.
