NBA quadruple-double
You see LeBron James, Jason Kidd and Rajon Rondo complete triple-doubles every once in a while during a season, but rarely do you see a quadruple-double -- 10 or more in four of the five main stat categories (points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocked shots). "Official" quadruple-doubles have only been possible since the 1973-74 season, when the NBA started recording blocked shots and steals, so players like Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain, and Bill Russell are likely to have achieved one prior to modern record-keeping. Only four NBA players have recorded a quadruple-double: Nate Thurmond (1974), Alvin Robertson ('86), Hakeem Olajuwon ('90) and most recently David Robinson ('94, left).
