Ted Williams, 1918-2002
The family of Ted Williams is feuding over what should be done with the slugger's remains. His son wants to deep-freeze Williams's corpse for future revival or cloning. But according to his daughter, the Red Sox Hall of Famer wanted to be cremated. What do you think?

Why would anyone want to buy Ted Williams' DNA? Look what it has already produced...a son with no discernable talents who seeks to profit off his father's corpse.
Eileen, Belmont
I think you should do what Teddy wanted. He wanted to be cremated so cremate him.
Gary Costello, Lowell
The man's last wishes should not be tampered with. There are thousands of us transplanted Bostonians in this country who would like to remember Teddy Ballgame as he appeared to us, a stand up guy. Bickering amongst his spoiled children should remain between them and leave his legacy alone for history.
Paul Heywood, Melbourne, Fla.
It is hard to believe that a legend such as Teddy Williams, who has had a spectacular life time, would have to endure this kind of family feud in the afterlife. I say the family should have his body cremated, according to his wishes, so that he may be able to rest his great soul in peace. For the record, I hope John Henry Williams breaks another rib (or two).

Freeze John Henry William instead
Craig , Quincy
Leave his body alone!! Let him be cremated as he wanted. His son is a money-grubbing loser.
June, Weymouth
John Henry is a scoundrel. But it's not merely because he froze Ted's body "against his wishes." Amicor (the freezing company) doesn't freeze any body that gets dropped off at their doorstep. They need to get approval from the person getting frozen. Otherwise, anybody could attempt to freeze anyone after death. Either John Henry convinced his ailing Dad to this scheme, or he signed the approval forms illegally or through a Power of Attorney. The Kid's kid is scum.
Steven C, Boston
This just re-affirms how "hung up" people get over death. We should be celebrating his life, and all that he did for baseball. That's ALL that we should be talking about.

I think its disturbing what his son wants to do. His son is disgusting.

Poor Ted. Let's face it, whatever his son's reasons for cyrogenically freezing him are, it is too late to give the legend a dignified ceremony. Has John Henry considered this whole "selling Dad's DNA" thing thoroughly? Ted's DNA couldn't exactly produce a son that could hit, field or run. Seeing the results, who would pay big bucks for Ted's DNA? At any rate, I hope the courts settle this quickly. Ted should get he wants and deserves according to his will.
