Pat Coppinger , Lowell: The Red Raiders’ squad will be stacked once again, led by the senior, who ran a 16:34 (5K) at last year’s EMass Division 1 championship, placing 10th.

Drew Fossa , Peabody: He made great strides as a sophomore, placing 23d at the EMass Division 1 meet with a time of 17:02. As a junior, he’ll be one of the top runners in the region.

Peter Hale , Swampscott: His 16:44 finish at the EMass Division 5 meet last November was just three seconds off the pace of the winner, Weston’s Matt Herzig.

Danny O’Connell , Central Catholic: The senior made an impressive showing at last year’s Merrimack Valley Conference meet, placing 16th.

Tom O’Shea , St. John’s Prep: After being hampered with injuries earlier in his career, the senior has consistently improved and will be a rock for the Prep.

Girls

Bryanna Allison , Lowell: The senior will be the front runner for a strong Red Raider squad after last year’s eighth-place finish at the Division 1 EMass championships.

Lexi Buonfiglio , Lynnfield: Pioneers coach Joe DiBiaso expects his senior standout to break a few course records this fall.

Sarah Keiran , Ipswich: The Tigers’ senior will be a solid contender this fall after winning the EMass Division 6 title and placing seventh at the Division 2 All-State meet last year.

Catarina Rocha , Peabody: After capturing the Division 1 EMass and All-State titles last fall, the senior will be a force once again.

Jackie Solimine , Haverhill: The Merrimack Valley Conference will be highly competitive, especially with the return of the senior Hillie, who ran a 19:24 at the Division 1 All-State meet in 2011.
