The girls swimming and diving state championships took place on Feb. 16 in Springfield, and Kristina Barakov and Wayland won the Division 2 title. Westford won Division 1.
Barnstable’s girls' gymnastics team won the state championship after Jillian Fraser's floor routine earned her a 9.325, giving the team a total of 146.65, only 1.30 ahead of second-place Sharon. It was Barnstable's ninth girls' gymnastics title in 13 years.
In girls' alpine skiing, Wellesley and Lunenburg shared the state title. Wellesley freshman Sami Rubin (pictured) won the slalom in 36.67 and took sixth in the giant slalom (45.09).

Evan Igoe and Andover won the final MIAA state gymnastics championship for boys on Feb. 15. Boys' gymnastics will not be held by the MIAA after this season.
North Andover's Danielle Coughlin defeated Winchester's Jordan Darby in the 106-pound weight class in the Division 2 state wrestling championship at Marshfield High. Coughlin was the first female to win a Massachusetts state wrestling title.
Andrew Solomon of Concord Carlisle placed first in the boys' slalom at the state championships with a time of 34.58.
Andover's Jessie Livingston won the individual title for beam at the state championships with a score of 9.550.
Led by sophomore Amy Piccolo (pictured right), Ursuline was able to capture the Division 4 indoor track title.
