For the past 11 years, the Notre Dame Academy girls’ golf team walked off the green as state champions.
On Tuesday, that historic run came to an end thanks to a Wellesley squad that posted an overall score of 363 to win the MIAA state championship by 16 strokes at Chicopee Country Club.
Freshman Anna Dailey, who would have been a bit young for preschool when Notre Dame’s streak began, led the Raiders with a 13-over-par 84 and was followed by junior Katharine Fortin (86).
The Individual state title went to Dover-Sherborn’s Sophie DiPetrillo, who finished 3 over par. The sophomore finished three strokes ahead of Concord-Carlisle’s Karolyne Shieh (77), and six ahead of Angela Zhang of Sharon (80).
