The No. 15 Wellesley Raiders boys’ soccer team had a tough opening three games. But once they put the 2-1 loss at No. 2 Needham last Saturday behind them, Wellesley bounced back.
After defeating No. 4 Weymouth at home on Tuesday, 3-1, the Raiders scored four first-half goals en route to a 5-1 victory over Brookline on Thursday afternoon in Wellesley.
Sophomore forward Matt D’Anieri stole the show for the Raiders (2-1). In the seventh minute, D’Anieri scored the opening goal. Senior midfielder Adam Chernew scored eight minutes later, before D’Anieri scored again off an assist from Chernew.
In the 38th minute, Raiders’ midfielder Alcy Torres gave the team a 4-0 lead.
