In the end, it was worth the wait. Acton-Boxboro presented coach Bill Maver with his 200th career win last night, beating Newton South, 27-0, in a Dual County Large contest. Division 1 Girls North
Peabody rallies, tops Winchester
Facing a two-goal, second-half deficit to a Winchester team that had knocked Peabody out the previous three postseasons, the Lady Tanners desperately needed a spark. That's when star freshman Hayley Dowd's speed and two goals ignited the offense, leading Peabody to a 3-2 upset win in the MIAA Division 1 North girls semifinals.
