Players of the Year
Amy Caldwell, Braintree
![]() |
She might be the best player on this page. Caldwell is the Division 1 Player of the Year in EMass and she still has one more year to terrorize defenses. She netted 43 goals and 23 assists to lead Braintree to the Division 1 state championship, where the Wamps shocked nationally ranked Minnechaug in the final, 3-2. At 5 feet 1 inch, she may look slight, but she has been as big they come when it comes to scoring goals. For her career, she has 87 goals and 49 assists. Caldwell, who is a member of the US Under-16 National team, also competes with the Braintree gymnastics and track teams and has earned Bay State League all-star selections for both.
Sydney Stoll, Dedham
![]() |
In a league where aggressiveness as well as talent was essential, Stoll brought both to her game. She was named the Bay State League MVP and, along with fellow All-Scholastic Jenni Hibbard, led Dedham to its first Division 2 final. For the season, she tallied 17 goals and 10 assists in the low-scoring Bay State League and finished with 60 goals and 54 assists for her career. This is her second consecutive All-Scholastic selection. Also a member of Dedhams indoor track team, Stoll is an honor roll student and enjoys snowboarding. She will attend the University of Massachusetts on a soccer scholarship.
Jackie Vickers, Norwell
![]() |
There was no more prolific scorer in EMass this season. She scored in bunches for Norwell, helping her team upset Globe No. 1 Dedham during the regular season, earn the South Shore League title, and make it to the Division 3 South sectional semifinals. For her career, the senior scored 108 goals and had 62 assists, and led EMass in socring in 2005 and 2005. Vickers also plays basketball for Norwell and enjoys playing soccer and hanging out with friends in her spare time. The 5-foot Vickers plays club soccer for the Cape Cod Crusaders Super Y team and hopes to continue her soccer career in college.
Coaches of the Year
Fred Marks, Braintree
![]() |
Marks led his alma mater through a magical season, which culminated with Braintrees come-from-behind win over Minnechaug in the Division 1 state final. The Wamps went 21-1-2 this season and were Carey Division champions in the Bay State League. After such success, the 49-year-old was named EMass Girls Soccer Coaches Association Coach of the Year in Division 1 and picked up his second Bay State League Coach of the Year award. Marks has been coaching soccer for eight years and counts coaching youth sports as his main hobby. Marks is a 1974 graduate of Braintree High and a 1978 graduate of Westfield State.
Don Savi, Dedham
![]() |
Savi skippered the most successful Dedham team in school history this season. The Marauders, behind the play of All-Scholastics Jenni Hibbard and Sydney Stoll, made it to the Division 2 state championship, where they lost to Nipmuc. The 40-year-old Savi has compiled a career coaching record of 128-34-36 and has led his team to tournament berths in each of his nine seasons. A 1983 graduate of Dedham, he was a three-sport athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and baseball. Im lucky to have coached such a talented and dedicated group of athletes, said Savi, a four-time Bay State Herget Coach of the Year. Im proud of all we have accomplished.
Francis Okaroh, Dover-Sherborn
![]() |
Eleventh-seeded and little more than an afterthought, Dover-Sherborn caught fire in the Division 3 tournament with Okaroh at the helm. After beating Archbishop Williams in the Division 3 sectional final, D-S lost a 2-1 heartbreaker to North champion Hamilton-Wenham. But there was nothing bitter in the loss for D-S or Okaroh. The Nigerian-born former MLS player completely revamped Dover-Sherborn, leading the team to a 14-9-1 record this season. He called his Dover-Sherborn surprise team hard-working overachievers. Okaroh, 44, was an All-America selection at BU and has been coaching for seven years. He enjoys reading and listening to music.
The All-Scholastics
Cheryl Boyd, Holliston

Hollistons record books say Boyd is the best girls soccer player in school history. She holds the school record in career goals (69) and most points in a season (37). This season, the senior tallied 25 goals and 12 assists and picked up Tri-Valley MVP honors while leading her team to a 19-2-1 record and an appearance in the Division 2 North finals, where they lost to eventual Division 2 EMass champion Dedham. Jenni Hibbard, Dedham

Her partnership with Stoll, which stretches back to their first varsity season for Dedham in eighth grade, was among the best in the state. Though she had to battle through several leg and foot injuries throughout the season, Hibbard was able to lead Dedham to the EMass Division 2 championship and a Bay State Herget title. Hibbard is also a four-year MVP for the Dedham girls tennis team. She serves as class president. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and shopping. Hibbard hopes to attend Skidmore or St. Lawrence and study law.
Allison Hubbard, Marshfield
![]() |
Though her team couldnt repeat as Division 1 EMass champion, Hubbard played the best soccer of her career, leading Marshfield to a 19-2-1 record and an appearance in the South sectional final. Anchoring Marshfield from her central midfield role, she picked up the Old Colony League Most Valuable Player award and was named to the OCL, EMass, and All-State All-Star teams. Emily Weedon, Wellesley
![]() |
Heres our formula for picking the only goalkeeper on this page: Take the best goalie from the best league (Hint: its the Bay State League). Weedon is the answer to our equation. She was chosen as the Bay State Leagues best goalie and was also a league all-star this season. She was in the net for Wellesley when the Raiders won the Division 2 state championship last season and has been a league all-star three times. For her career, she has allowed 51 goals in 53.5 games.
