Girls' soccer
Players of the Year

Division 1
Melanie Baskind, Framingham
Baskind scored 19 times and had 20
assists as Framingham (16-2-3) won
the tough Bay State. The accolades:
Bay State MVP, four time conference
all-star, two time All State, All New
England, and All-American. And
shes on her way to Harvard.

Division 2
Kelly Matthews, Oliver Ames
Matthews captianed the Tigers (22-
1-1) to the state championship, with
26 season points. She was the MVP of
the league,EMass Player of the Year,
and three time all-conference team
member. Next fall she will go to
Northeastern to continue playing.

Division 3
Jessica Gray, Sacred Heart
This senior scored 41 points on the
year on her way to 156 career points,
leading the Grey Ghosts (20-1). This
was the third year she has made the
EMass and All-State teams, and her
second league MVP. She has committed
to play at Wheaton for next year.
Coaches of the Year

Division 1
Ru Sweeney, Acton-Boxboro
Sweeney coached his girls to an
undefeated season (23-0-1) and a
Division 1 state championship. In
three years coaching at his own alma
matta (a 1990 grad) he has compiled
a 58-4-3 record, and last year was the
leagues coach of the year.

Division 2
Britt Sellmayer, Oliver Ames
In 14 years at the helm, Sellmayer
has coached the Tigers to eight
league and three state titles. An
overall 245-32-27 record, this P.E.
teacher won the state this season, as
they went 22-1-1. The Bridgewater
St. graduate also coaches lacrosse.

Division 3
Robert Gonnam, Newburyport
Gonnam led his team to a Division 3
state championship with a 3-2 victory
over Bromfield in the finals and
finished with a spectacular 21-1-2
record for the 2007 season. The
Reading High School graduate has
coached 488 teams over 29 years.
All-Scholastics

Forward
Jen Leaverton, Bishop Feehan
Leaverton lit up the EAC with 44
points , on her way setting the
schools scoring mark with 137
points. A three time league all-star,
the senior also earned league MVP
twice in a row. Next year she will play
at St. Johns on scholarship.

Forward
Hayley Brock, Acton-Boxboro
Only a sophomore, Brocks goal
scoring (24) led A-B to the state title.
The league MVP, and All New-England
selection, she saved her best for
the playoffs, scoring three game
winners. She also plays on a U14
team which placed third nationally.

Midfielder
Kristie Mewis, Whitman-Hanson
Only a junior, Mewis has earned the
ACL MVP every year shes played.
This year she had 28 goals and 21
assists as W-H went undefeated in
the regular season. She has also been
named to the US National team, and
as a 2006 Youth All-American.

Forward
Emily Pillemer, Arlington
This three time league all-star scored
23 times this year to lead the Spy
Ponders to a 17-2-1 record. With a
career 91 points the senior received
EMass honors twice in her career. A
scorer who doubles in lacrosse, Pillemer
wants to play both in college.

Goalkeeper
Alexandra (A.J.) Millet, Westford
With six shutouts in her junior year
(24 career), Millet lowered her career
goals against average to 0.85, all in
spite of a broken thumb. She was the
DCLs leading keeper for the third
time, and for the second year made
All-Scholastic, EMass and All-State.

Defender
Katharine Rausch, Belmont
Winning two MVPs as a defender is
practically impossible. But Rausch
managed that, as well as twice being
named All-Scholastic, EMass, and
All-State. She led Belmont to 13-4-4
record, and will study in the biomedical
field, but hasnt picked where.

Midfielder
Casey King, Danvers
Recovering from a torn ACL last year,
King lead Danvers (19-4-0) to this
years North sectional title. The
NECs MVP, she made EMass, All-
State, and All-New England teams,
and her second conference team. She
will major in physical therapy.

Midfielder
Nicole Savi, Dedham
Savi led Dedham (16-3-4) as they
won their division, earning 25 points.
A junior who will return to defend
the South Sectional, after earning
EMass, All-State, and All-New England
honors. She is three time allconference
with 87 career points.

Forward
Kelsey Mahoney, Dighton-Rehoboth
The leading scorer in EMass with 59
points, the senior led the Falcons to
21-2 record. Her 40 goals this year
were a single season record for D-R,
where she is also number two in
career points. In the winter and
spring she captains the track team.

Midfielder
Amanda Webster, St. Mary's
Webster, a junior, led St. Marys to a
12-5-5 record and has begun to rewrite
their record books, setting the
career totals in goals (76) and points
(116). She was CCL MVP, and named
to her third all-conference team, as
well as EMass Player of the Year.

Forward
Jillian Kinter, Newburyport
The 2007 Cape Ann Player of the Year
finished with 27 goals and 21 assists
as a junior this season, moving her
career point total to 106 over three
years on the varsity. Kinter has been
the top scorer or goal scorer for each
in her three years on the team.

Cassie Wagner, Acton-Boxboro
Wagner helped lead the Colonials to a
perfect season and state championship.
A junior, the forward is a two
time DCL leading scorer and three
times has been named to the EMass
and DCL all-stars. She also plays for
the Boston Bolts U18 club.
