Golfers of the Year

Division 1

Joe Young, Xaverian

Young shared the Division 1 State title following a 74 at Marlborough Country Club. Young has been named team captain twice and was selected to the Catholic Conference All-Star team for the third consecutive season
Division 2

Cam Kneeland, Triton

The Cape Ann League Player of the Year was the Division 2 state champion following his 72 at Waubeeka Golf Links in Williamstown. An honor student, Kneeland also plays basketball and is captain of Triton’s baseball team.
Division 3

Brendan Meagher, Weston

Meagher had the good fortune — and talent — to take home two state championships. He was the Division 3 state individual champion and was part of Weston’s title squad. Meagher, second in the DCL tournament, also plays hockey for Weston.

Coaches of the Year

Division 1

Philip Rousseau, Newton North

Rousseau’s Tigers went 15-1 in the Bay State League and finished fourth in the Division 1 tournament. Rousseau, a 1968 Newton North grad, received the MIAA’s Sportsmanship Award. After 30 years of teaching, he will retire in the spring.
Division 2

Jon Murch, Lincoln-Sudbury

Murch led his squad to the Division 2 championship and the Division 2 North sectional. The team, led by All-Scholastic Austin Smith, compiled a 13-5 record during the season. The first-year coach is a 1993 graduate of Skidmore.
Division 3

Andy Santos, Old Rochester

Santos guided his team to a thirdplace finish at the Division 3 state championship tournament at Wentworth Hills Golf Club in Plainville. His Bulldogs were undefeated in the South Coast Conference and won the league tournament.

All-Scholastics

Senior

Jared Pane, Barnstable

Pane was the top performer at the Division 1 South Sectional tournament. He fired a 70 at Glen Ellen CC in Millis, leading Barnstable to a first-place finish. At the Division 1 state tournament, he finished third and Barnstable took second.
Senior

Tony Grillo, Martha's Vineyard

The Harvard-bound Grillo was just one stroke off the lead at the Division 2 championship after shooting a 73, tying for second place. Grillo, a twotime All-Scholastic, sported a 35.6 stroke average during his career and was 25-2-3 in match play.
Senior

Peter Anderson, Wellesley

Anderson was the class of the Division 2 South tournament, 67 at Easton Country Club in October, which helped his team to a second-place finish. At the Division 2 state championship, he finished third and Wellesley finished second.
Senior

Patrick Johnson, Pembroke

Johnson was the Division 3 South section winner, was fourth at Division 3 states, and set the school’s nine-hole record during the regular season with a 2-under-par 33. He was named a Patriot League All-Star for the third consecutive season.
Senior

Matt Lussier, Holliston

The team captain finished second at the Division 2 state championship, shooting a 75 at Waubeeka Golf Links. He was also seventh in the Division 2 South tourney, leading the Panthers to the team title along with teammate Cole Childs.
Sophomore

Cole Childs, Holliston

Childs, a member of Holliston’s 2006 Division 3 state title team, shot 77 to capture fifth in the Division 2 state individual competition. Childs, along with All-Scholastic teammate Matt Lussier, led the Panthers to the Division 2 South team title.
Junior

Austin Smith, Lincoln-Sudbury

Smith was a vital member of Lincoln- Sudbury’s Division 2 state championship team, firing a team-best 77 at Waubeeka Golf Club in Williamstown. Smith also has a Dual County League individual title on his résumé this season.
Senior

Michael Mullavey, St. John's Prep

Mullavey fired a 74 in the Division 1 state final, tying him with Xaverian’s Joe Young for the state title. He was 10th in Division 1 North. The captain is a two-time Catholic Conference All-Star and finished third in the league tournament.
Junior

Sean Burke, Andover

Burke helped his team to a seventhplace finish in the Division 1 state championship tournament. His performance earned him a sixthplace finish in the individual tournament with a round of 78. He enjoys playing golf and watching movies.
Senior

Josh Salah, Gloucester

The two-time NEC MVP, Salah had a sixth-place finish at the Division 2 state tournament, where he shot 78. Salah had a 35.5 scoring average this fall with a 9-1-2 individual record. A two-time All-Scholastic, Salah is also captain of the hockey team.

Rich Campiola, Central Catholic

Campiola notched his second consecutive Merrimack Valley Conference Open and shot 81 at the Division 1 state tournament at Marlborough Country Club. Campiola finished third at the Division 1 North tournament in Beverly with a 75.
Junior

Andrew Fecteau, Triton

Fecteau won the Cape Ann League Open, was runner-up in the Division 2North tournament, and finished 10th in the Division 2 state championship with a round of 79. He also plays basketball and baseball for Triton.
