Coaches of the Year
Jim McHugh, St. Mary's
|
||
![]() |
McHugh's squad seemed to take a page out of the New England Patriots book this season. "Every match, a different player stepped up," he wrote. He added that his Spartans were "strong [in spots] 1-10." Under McHugh's guidance, St. Mary's finished the season at 15-0 and won the Catholic Central League. McHugh, a past Globe Division 2 softball coach of the year, now has a career coaching record in golf of 57-23. A 1967 graduate of Bishop Fenwick, McHugh played football at his alma mater. During his college years at Salem State, he shined on the soccer field. His hobbies include golf (watching and playing) and walking his wife, Erin.

Shanahan played basketball, cross-country, and softball in her high school days. When she's not coaching, look for her on the golf course playing or boating.
