In his fifth season as coach, Aronson has guided the Warriors to a 10-6 state final win over Dover-Sherborn. The Warriors finished 21-2. ``They are very focused and a pleasure to coach,'' said Aronson. ``The credit should go to the kids and my outstanding assistants Paul Ramos and Mike Douglas.'' The two-time TVL Coach of the Year and 2001 Eastern Massachusetts Coach of the Year is 80-24 in his career. He enjoys spending time with his family and watching the History Channel.

Marrocco has also played on two gold medal lacrosse teams in the Bay State Games as well as on the Mass. Elite All-Star team and the Lower New England National Team. She is an honor roll student and member of the Student Council, is captain-elect of the field hockey and lacrosse teams, and enjoys boating in her spare time.
Anita Martignetti, Winchester
|
||

It's not always easy to shine as a defender, but Martignetti's dominating presence in the backfield made opposing teams and coaches notice her. She anchored a Winchester (19-2) defense that averaged just 6.8 goals against this season, and in her career, the well-rounded Martignetti also scored 25 goals and made 11 assists. According to coach Suzanne Ontzo, ``She has a great field sense. She is very strong and very smart . . . and she actually has the hardest shot on our team. You can hear it when she shoots.'' This spring, opponents averaged just 5.1 goals per game against the two-year captain, and she has been a DCL All-Star three times. Smith is also a league all-star and captain of the soccer team, plays varsity basketball, and was named Wayland High's 2004 Female Athlete of the Year. The junior made a career-high 25 saves against South sectional champ Westwood, but according to coach Paul Powderly, ``It's her ability to move the ball upfield and initiate the fast-break that's uncanny.'' Whiteway is captain-elect of the lacrosse squad and a three-time Merrimack Valley Conference All-Star. She was on the 2003 and 2004 Lower New England National Teams and this summer, will play with the Mass. Elite Team. Whiteway also runs cross-country and indoor track.
Coach of the Year
Sue Paull, Duxbury

Overall, the Green Dragons were 21-2 and reached the South semifinals, and according to Paull, this was her ``most talented team ever.'' In eight years, she has coached Duxbury to a 110-40-2 record, and with two All-Scholastics and Paull returning next spring, the future looks bright. A 1968 graduate of Colby Junior College where she played lacrosse, field hockey, and basketball, she also coaches JV field hockey at Duxbury.
