Coaches of the year

Mike Wartman, Andover
 DIVISION 1
  Wartman coached his team to an 18-2 record and the Merrimack Valley Conference title. Wartman also coaches varsity boys’ soccer and has been a guidance counselor for 25 years. ‘‘This year’s team was an outstanding group of student athletes.’’
Erik Hamilton, Winchester
 DIVISION 2
  The second-year coach, with a career record of 47-1, has already had great success as his team won the Division 2 state championship for the second straight year. Hamilton is certain of the strength of his team, their ability to triumph in pressure matches.

The All-Scholastics

Surainder Asokaraj, Acton-Boxboro
 Junior
  A member of this year’s Division 1 North sectional champions, Asokaraj was also a North sectional finalist in the state individual tournament. Asokaraj is ranked in the Top 10 in New England for Boys 16-and-under in the USTA.
Jeffrey Beaton, Pentucket
 Senior
  A two-time All-Scholastic, Beaton was named this year’s Cape Ann League Player of the Year and made it to the semifinals of the North tournament. A Pentucket honor roll student, Beaton plans to do a postgraduate year at Loomis Chaffee.
Joe Delinks, Falmouth
 Junior
  A young leader for Falmouth, Delinks helped carry the team to an 18-0 record and the Division 1 state championship. Going into his senior year, he holds a regular season record of 53-0. Delinks will be competing in the USTA tournaments this summer.
Brandon Grace, Falmouth
 Senior
  A four-year varsity player and league all-star, Grace and teammate Rich Litterst contributed to Falmouth’s 24-0 record and Division 1 state championship. Grace and Litterst lost in the South final to the eventual state champions. He will attend WPI.
Mike Greene, Newton North
 Senior
  Named a Bay State league All-Star for the second consecutive year, Greene and Dan Razulis’s hard work concluded with winning the MIAA state doubles title. The Tigers finished an impressive 18-2 this spring. Greene will attend NYU in the fall.
Philip Johnson, Andover
 Junior
  A finalist with teammate Jason Sabourin in the MIAA North doubles tournament, Johnson was a member of this year’s Merrimack Valley Conference champs. This summer he will compete at the Williams Tennis Club.
Ryan Lemos, Acton-Boxboro
 Junior
  No stranger to playing great tennis, last year Lemos was half of the MIAA state doubles champions. This year, Lemos and teammate Charlie Normington were the North champions. This summer, he will be attending Nike Tennis Camp.
Rich Litterst, Falmouth
 Sophomore
  With two years left, there isn’t much room for improvement for this talented sophomore. Litterst and Brandon Grace lost in the South doubles finals, but then regrouped to lead the Clippers to the Division 1 state title and a final record of 24-0.
Anton Nikolov, Ashland
 Junior
  A two-time All-Scholastic, Nikolov won the North sectional singles title before losing in the semifinals of the state individual tournament. The Tri-Valley League MVP in 2006, Nikolov won the state individual title in 2006.
Charlie Normington, Acton-Boxboro
 Senior
  Closing out his high school career, Normington teamed up with Ryan Lemos and was the North sectional doubles winner. A-B was also the North team champion. Last season he was a North sectional semifinalist. He will attend Salva Regina.
Sean Pease, Falmouth
 Senior
  A second-year captain, Pease led Falmouth to the Division 1 state tennis title and a perfect 24-0 record. Pease, who lost in the semifinals of the South individual tournament, posted a 68-4 career regular season record. He will attend Quinnipiac.
Daniel Razulis, Newton North
 Junior
  Razulis and teammate Mike Greene, finished up Newton North’s 18-2 season by clinching the MIAA doubles state title. A two-time Bay State All-Star, Razulis’s current career record is 31-5. Razulis is also a member Newton North’s soccer team.
Jason Sabourin, Andover
 Senior
  ANorth sectional finalist this spring, Sabourin went undefeated in the regular season as Andover finished the year 18-2. The captain of Andover’s ski team, Sabourin will attend Vanderbilt University this fall and study mechanical engineering.
Jake Toole, Sharon
 Senior
  The team captain won this year’s MIAA individual championship, beating defending champion Anton Nikolov in the semifinals along the way. Toole, the Hockomock League MVP, will be playing Division 1 tennis at Penn State this fall.
Manuel Zorrilla-Hernandez, Brookline
 Sophomore
  Since moving from Spain, Zorrilla- Hernandez has been Brookline’s leader on the courts. He went 12-1 in the Bay State Conference and lost in the semifinals of the South individual tournament. Zorrilla will compete in USTA events this summer.
Ari Zyskind, Concord-Carlisle
 Junior
  A Dual County League All-Star, Zyskind contributed to the Patriots’ 21-1 season that ended in the North final with a loss to league rival Acton- Boxboro. Zyskind lost in the semifinals of the North individual.
