Coaches of the Year

Division 1

Diane Fidurko, Needham

Fidurko led her squad to the South sectional title, Bay State Conference championship, and a 20-1 record. She has more than 200 wins in her 17 years of coaching. She calls her players ‘‘very coachable’’ and enjoys golfing, bicycling, and reading.
Division 2

Craig Stone, Lynnfield

A 29-year coaching veteran who boasts a 433-61 record, Stone led Lynnfield to a 17-2 record, its third straight Cape Ann League title, and the North sectional final. He was the Globe’s Coach of the Year in tennis in 1988 and 1997.

Singles All-Scholastics

Senior

Susan Bitetti, Norwell

Bitetti capped an impressive career with her first state individual crown, dropping only four games in her sweep through the semifinals and final. She was unbeaten this season and finished her career at 95-4. She will be playing next year at Furman.
Junior

Kirsten Boyer, Acton-Boxboro

A returning All-Scholastic, the junior captain led Acton-Boxboro to a Dual County League title and Division 1 state championship. She advanced to the semifinals of the North sectional individual tournament and enjoys reading.
Senior

Kristina Chao, Needham

One of Needham’s three captains and a returning All-Scholastic, Chao finished the regular season 14-2 and reached the South sectional individual semifinals. She reached a USTA New England high ranking of No. 20 and will play at Sacred Heart.
Senior

Kate Donnelly, Barnstable

Donnelly finished her regular season at 18-0 before advancing to the South sectional final. She owns a 90-5 career record at No. 1 singles and led her team to four Old Colony League championships. She will attend Sacred Heart.
Junior

Lauren Hollender, Newton South

Hollender won her third consecutive North sectional individual final and, playing at No. 1 singles, led her team to the North sectional quarterfinals. She was the individual state champion in 2007 and will captain the varsity soccer team this fall.
Freshman

Ariana Launie, Milton

A Bay State Conference All-Star, Launie went 18-0 in the regular season and finished 23-1 while reaching the South sectional semifinals. She is ranked 25th in USTA New England juniors, plays basketball, and is an honor roll student.
Freshman

Amy Li, Acton-Boxboro

Li went undefeated in her first season (11 matches at second singles and five matches at first), helping her team tie for the Dual County League title and win a state championship. She also advanced to the North individual semifinals.
Junior

Abby McKeon, Westford Academy

A three-time team MVP and Dual County League All-Star, No. 1 singles player McKeon completed her third consecutive undefeated regular season before advancing to the Division 1 North individual final. She also likes athletic training.

Doubles All-Scholastics

Senior

Leslie Signor, Winchester

Playing at first doubles with Melissa Lin, Signor recorded her second straight undefeated season and won the North doubles individual tournament. She runs and teaches at a tennis clinic during the summer and is headed to Fairfield.
Senior

Melissa Lin, Winchester

Lin went 18-0 during the regular season and was the Division 1 North doubles champion alongside partner Leslie Signor. She was also a captain of the Middlesex League-champion Winchester soccer team and will attend the University of Delaware.

Stacey Eisenberg, Newton South

Playing at first doubles with Marissa Mamon, the pair earned Dual County League All-Star honors for the third straight season and finished with a 12-3 record. An honor roll student, she will attend Tulane University in the fall.

Marissa Mamon, Newton South

Mamon finished the regular season at 12-3 alongside doubles partner Stacey Eisenberg and advanced to the North sectional individual doubles final. A three-time Dual County League All-Star, Mamon will attend Vanderbilt.
Senior

Victoria Tucker, Wellesley

Wellesley’s captain went 10-0 during the regular season playing with partner Caroline Taylor. They only went to three sets once during this season and made it to the South sectional doubles final. She will attend Boston College.
Sophomore

Caroline Taylor, Wellesley

Playing with first doubles partner Victoria Tucker, Taylor went undefeated during the regular season and advanced to the South sectional individual championship. The pair also led Wellesley to the South sectional team final.
Senior

Megan Dempsey, Weymouth

Playing with first doubles partner Samantha Norton, Dempsey helped clinch the South sectional individual doubles title in three sets (6-1, 5-7, 6-4). Her team finished 16-3. She also played soccer and will attend Keene State.
Senior

Samantha Norton, Weymouth

Norton, who played with Megan Dempsey at the No. 1 doubles spot, won the South sectional individual championship and helped her team reach the Division 1 South quarterfinals. She was also a member of the soccer team.
