Lacrosse, Sr.

Michael Shakespeare, Governor's Academy

Captain of a 17-0 squad this season, Shakespeare had 57 goals and 13 assists to finish with 166 goals and 60 assists in his career, his 226 points second all-time at the school. The ISL MVP will play at lacrosse power Maryland next spring.
Track, Jr.

Phil Royer, St. George's

Royer was undefeated at 1,500 and 3,000 meters in the league this season. He won the distance double at the ISL championships, where he was also named the MVP, and the New England Division 3 meet. He will return as a captain as a senior.
Track, Sr.

Brandon Murray, Governor's Academy

Murray won the high jump and the long jump at the ISTA Championships, earning him field event MVP. He was undefeated in the high jump during the regular season and won the event at the Division 2 New England Prep School meet.
Track, Fr.

Monet Brathwaite, Thayer

Brathwaite dominates the track. This season, she was an ISL and New England champion in the 200, 400, 4 x 100, and 4 x 400. She helped Thayer set school and New England records in the 4 x 100 (48.78) and 4 x 400 (4:04.50).
Track, Soph.

Tatiana Fitzpatrick, Thayer

Fitzpatrick is a key member of the Thayer track program. She was a member of the 4 x 100 relay team that broke a school and New England record (48.78). She finished with career bests of 17-4OE in the long jump and 35 feet in the triple jump.
Softball, Sr.

Allison Conti, St. George's

Attempting to steal a base with ISL MVP Conti behind the plate is a daunting task — she threw out 16 runners in the 15 games this season. She also led the team in hitting, batting .556. She’s a repeat first team all-league selection.
Baseball, Sr.

Anthony Melchionda, Thayer

The shortstop has always been his team’s sparkplug — he was the team MVP as a junior and this season he won the ISL MVP award as well. He hit. 500 with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs, and 22 runs scored. He’ll play baseball at Boston College.
Golf, Sr.

Nathan Belkin, Belmont Hill

Belkin posted a 14-2-2 record in the No. 1 role at Belmont Hill. In his career, he has qualified for the Mass. Junior and Mass. Open tournaments and in 2006 he tied for seventh in the Mass. Juniors. He’ll be attending Amherst College.
Tennis, 7th Grade

Jillian Rooney, Thayer

She’s only 13 but don’t let that fool you. She went 11-1 this season and won the ISL New England Championship against older players. An All-ISL player this season, she will be playing in national tennis tournaments this summer.
Tennis, Sr.

Alex Skinner, Brooks

The New England Class A tournament champion lost just once in 18 singles matches on his way to an MVP season. He’s a three-time All- ISL player. Skinner also plays basketball and plans to play tennis at Boston College.

EIL

Lacrosse, Sr.

Harry Holden, Portsmouth Abbey

As team captain, Holden led his team to a 14-2 record and an EIL championship. He had a monster senior year, netting 41 goals — a large jump from his junior season when he had 24 — and was named EIL MVP. He finished with 92 career goals.
Softball, Sr.

Katie Graichen, Berwick

Hitting is just what Graichen does — her career batting average is a scorching .480. This season, she hit .537 with two home runs and 18 RBIs while making only one error at shortstop. She made only 11 errors in her career.
Tennis, Soph.

Veronica Corning, Pingree

Corning captured the EIL MVP award this season. She was ranked ninth at 18-and-under by the USTA after being ranked second at 16-andunder. Corning also won the national 16-and-under tournament in New York in 2007.
Tennis, Sr.

Garrett Lane, Pingree

Lane has been the EIL MVP for three years, which is no surprise since he lost only eight games all season. At one point he won 53 straight matches en route to finishing 61-2 overall. He is ranked third in New England in the USTA boys’ 18-group.
Lacrosse, Sr.

Samantha Taylor, Pingree

The Boston College-bound Taylor compiled 129 goals and 88 assists in her career. She represented Lower New England in the Schoolgirls’ National Tournament in ’06 and ’07. She also played in the North/South All-Star game in Baltimore.
Baseball, Jr.

Jolmi Minaya-Suriel, Pingree

Minaya-Suriel not only dominated on the mound this season with a 7-1 record and 1.10 ERA, but he also racked up impressive offensive numbers — .491, 21 RBIs — in earning EIL MVP honors the past two seasons.

NEPSAC

Baseball, Sr.

Ryan McCarthy, Philips Andover

The center fielder led his team and the Central New England Prep League with a .491 batting average and 23 RBIs. He also scored 21 runs. He wasn’t too shabby in the field either — he threw out five runners, two at the plate.
Softball, Jr.

Carly Nuttall, Tabor

Nuttall started as a second baseman her freshman year but now is a standout catcher. Her defensive play, .425, batting average, 8 RBIs, and 10 runs were enough to earn her a spot on the Big East Invitational All-Tournament Team.
