Players of the Year

division 1 / senior / midfielder

Jessica Griffin, Lincoln-Sudbury

Griffin is a three-time All-Scholastic and two-time All-American at Lincoln- Sudbury after a career that included 291 goals and 172 assists. She finished this season with 117 points and will attend the University of North Carolina in the fall.
division 2 / senior / attack

Mary Kate Gorman, Hingham

Gorman finished with 93 goals and 135 points this season to become the all-time leading scorer in school history (266 goals and 375 points). She led Hingham to a 16-7 record and the Division 2 South semifinals. She will play lacrosse at Tufts.

Coaches of the Year

Maggie Meagher, Reading

The Rockets went 16-5 and made it all the way to the Division 1 North final under Meagher’s leadership, the best finish for any team in school history. In her eight years as coach, the Winchester native has amassed a 69-35-5 record.
division 2

Karen Lahey, North Andover

Lahey, who led the Scarlet Knights to a spot in the Division 2 state final and a 20-4 record, is now a four-time coach of the year in the Cape Ann League. The mother of three children is a health and physical education teacher when she’s not coaching.

Mallory Bannon, Hopkinton

Bannon stopped 265 of the 430 shots for a 62 percent save percentage. She allowed only 7.7 goals per game, helping Hopkinton to a 17-5 record and a berth in the Division 2 South final. Her top performance: a 26-save showing against Norwell.
junior / midfielder

Moira Barry, Framingham

A two-time All-Scholastic and All- American, Barry helped spark the Flyers to a North sectional championship. A National Honor Society member, Barry also plays field hockey at Framingham and lacrosse for the Mass. Elite and ELNE 1.
senior / midfielder

Caroline Bunting, Wellesley

Bunting was named a Bay State League and Eastern Mass. first-team All-Star this season after helping Wellesley to an undefeated regular season and a berth in the Division 1 South final. She’s headed for the University of Pennslyvania in the fall.
junior / midfielder

Meghan Conley, Needham

Conley finished with 76 goals and 106 points for the Rockets and was named a Bay State League All-Star for the second straight year. Also a starter for the Needham soccer team, Conley has won honors playing for Mass. Elite and LNE 4 lacrosse clubs.
sophomore / midfielder

Blake Dietrick, Wellesley

Dietrick was the Bay State League Herget player of the year, finishing with 91 goals and 141 points. The two-time All-Scholastic has 229 points in two seasons. She also is a first-team All-Bay State player in basketball and cross country.
senior / midfielder

Jamie Dolan, Hopkinton

Dolan was a complete player — finishing the season 78 goals and 52 assists, 46 draw controls, 32 forced turnovers, and 29 ground balls. After finishing her career with 293 points, she will play lacrosse at the University of Louisville next year.

Kerry Eaton, King Philip

Eaton was named the Hockomock MVP this season and a league All- Star for the fourth straight season. She graduates as the all-time leading scorer in school history. A standout in field hockey, track, and swimming, Eaton will attend Tufts.

Cat Gross, Andover

Gross found the back of the net 48 times and chipped in 36 assists for the Warriors this season. The All- American lacrosse selection is also an all-conference field hockey player. Next year she will play lacrosse at the University of Connecticut.

Tanner Guarino, Framingham

Guarino, an All-American selection, is a three-time Framingham High Athlete of the Year. She not only helped the lacrosse team win the North sectional title, but was a captain on the basketball team and two-year member of the swim team.

Kara O'Connell, Norwell

O’Connell, the captain of the Division 2 state champs, registered 62 goals and 44 assists. A three-time South Shore League All-Star, the National Honor Society member is also a standout on the basketball and soccer teams.

Jenn Pino, North Andover

The Cape Ann League player of the year led the Scarlet Knights to the Division 2 state final and a 20-4 record. She was also an All-League player in soccer and ice hockey, and will be heading to Merrimack, where she will play soccer and lacrosse.

Kelly Rich, Westwood

Rich was an easy choice for Tri-Valley League MVP after putting up 105 goals and 172 points for the two-time Division 1 state champs. The All- American has 403 career points with a season to go and plans to enroll at Northwestern in 2010.

Alexa Rozelle, Lincoln-Sudbury

Rozelle led the Warriors with 85 goals and 28 assists, closing out an impressive career (273 goals). The honor roll student was named a Dual County League All-Star three straight years and will play lacrosse at California Berkeley next year.

Alison Stager, Reading

Stager, who will play for New Hampshire next season, scored 66 goals and registered 42 assists this year and finished her career with 250 points. She was also a Middlesex League All-Star as a soccer goalie and a basketball forward.

Kathryn Sullivan-Trainor, Westwood

Sullivan-Trainor was a force in the defensive end for the Wolverines, getting 16 interceptions, 54 ground balls, and 11 blocks, and forcing 32 turnovers. That performance helped Westwood to its second straight Division 1 state title.
senior / midfielder

Kelsi Tucci, Winchester

Tucci finished her career with 78 goals and 53 assists and was a twotime Middlesex League All-Star. This season she captained the team to its third staight league title. The honor roll student will play lacrosse next year at the University of Connecticut.
