Player of the Year

freshman

Alison Eleey, Notre Dame Academy

Eleey shot a 79 to earn a third-place finish in the MIAA girls’ individual state championship, and held the No. 1 spot on a stacked Cougars golf team. She also had the best score (76) in the MIAA girls’ team state championship.

Coach of the Year

David Gianferante, Notre Dame Academy

In his 10 years of coaching, Gianferante holds a stellar 161-6 record and this season led the Cougars to a 14-0 season and a Mass. Bay North championship. Notre Dame also won the MIAA girls’ team state tournament.

Alexandra Dunn, Lexington

The Minutemen co-captain won six of eight matches this season and placed in the top 10 at the girls’ individual state tournament. The Lexington Rotary Award winner this spring will head to Massachusetts Amherst in the fall.
freshman

Lauren Flynn, Notre Dame Academy

The No. 3 player on the Cougars team had the third best score, an 83, when her squad placed first in the state girls’ team tournament. Flynn also placed eighth in the New England individual tournament, finishing with an 87.
8th grade

Stephanie Frankian, Watertown

Frankian became the first 14-year-old to win the girls’ individual state championship. The high honor roll student, who is the No. 1 player on the boys’ varsity team, has also won the WGAM junior championship mite division two years in a row.
junior

Allison Ludtke, Fontbonne

Last year’s Class C WGAM champion had a 10-2-1 record this season for the Ducks and was their No. 1 player for two years. The National Honor Society member placed second at the Mass. Bay All-Stars and sixth (95) in the girls’ team state championship.
freshman

Mary Mulcahy, Scituate

Last year’s ladies’ club champion for the Hatherly Country Club tied for fourth in this season’s girls’ state individual tournament, finishing with a round of 80, six shots behind the winner. Mulcahy also enjoys playing tennis.
sophomore

Jennine Regan, Westford Academy

Last year’s New Hampshire Junior champion helped lead Westford Academy to a Dual County League Large title last fall. In 2006 and 2007, Regan won the New Hampshire Under-14 and Massachusetts Junior- Junior titles.

Lilith Remy-Miller, Dartmouth

The captain of the Dartmouth boys’ team made the Old Colony League All-Star team and was named an ESPN Rise Top 10 girls golfer this year. The two-time All-Scholastic and honor roll student also qualified for the New England championships.

Andie Savel, Lincoln-Sudbury

Since her freshman year, Savel has served as the only girl on the Warriors’ golf team and placed fifth in this year’s girls’ individual state championship. Savel, who hopes to continue golfing in college, also plays in the AJGA tournaments.

Rachel Sederberg, Notre Dame Hingham

The Cougars captain finished a personal- best 13-1 this season. The No. 2 player for Notre Dame, Sederberg placed third in the Mass. Bay League North individual tournament (41) and 11th in the state girls’ individual championship.
freshman

Isabel Southard, Sharon

As the No. 1 player on the Eagles golf team, Southard placed second in the MIAA girls’ individual state championship and fourth in the Hockomock League boys’ tournament. Last season Southard qualified for the US girls’ junior championship.

Aubrey Ungvarsky, Wilmington

Ungvarsky qualified to play in the Callaway World Junior tournament this summer, and is the No. 1 player on the Wilmington boys’ golf team. Although she also participates in indoor track, she hopes to play golf in college.
senior

Brittany Weddell, Bourne

The MVP of the Canalmen’s boys’ golf team finished third in the MIAA girls’ individual tournament after winning the event last season. Weddell, who has three career holes-in-one, will play for the Rutgers women’s golf team in the fall.

Brandon Neals, Bishop Fenwick

Neals was this year’s Catholic Central League individual champion, finishing with an average score of 37. Neals, who led the Crusaders (9-0) to their second straight undefeated regular season, also participates in the International Junior Golf Tour.

Blaine Thibodeau, Bishop Fenwick

The two-time All-Scholastic was this season’s Catholic Central League MVP and placed third in the league individual tournament. Thibodeau, who also played on the hockey team, enjoys snowboarding and surfing, and plans on playing golf in college.
