The snow has melted and Eastern Massachusetts has plodded through another long winter. On the scholastic landscape, it was a winter that featured new champions (the Chelmsford girls’ gymnastic team), familiar faces (Lowell’s Brian Sheehan, Braintree’s David Ellis), and a host of great individual feats, led by Ayla Brown of Nobles. The Globe toasts the athletes who made this winter a little less chilling and a lot more thrilling.
