Chris DeLorenzo, St. Johns Prep

Along with cocaptain Nicholas Carlucci, DeLorenzo helped St. Johns Prep cruise to the state championship at Wachusett Mountain. He used his four years of varsity experience to win the slalom, finishing in 33.86 seconds, and followed up that performance with a sixth-place finish in the giant slalom (56.89 seconds). On the weekends, he competes for the Mount Washington Valley ski team. DeLorenzo, a senior, enjoys surfing and has an interest in cars. He hopes to stay in New England for college and race competitively for the school ski team. | |

Andrew Hawes, Concord-Carlisle

For the second consecutive season, Hawes and his twin sister, Ashley, grace these pages. Andrew took home the Dual County League championship and placed third in the giant slalom at the state championships with a time of 55.9 seconds, and added a 12th-place finish inthe slalom. He is a three-time Dual County League All-Star and a two-time league champion. Hawes is a three-sport athlete at Concord-Carlisle, having captained the golf team and played for the basketball team. Hawes is an honor roll student and hopes to ski in college. In the summer, he plays American Legion baseball. | |

Carlucci cocaptained the St. Johns Prep state championship Alpine squad, which finished 34 points clear of second place St. Josephs in the overall team standings. He finished fourth in the giant slalom with a time of 56.3 seconds. As a sophomore, Carlucci was named Most Valuable Player for St. Johns Prep and in his junior season, he was selected for the Coaches Award. In his free time, the 5-foot 8-inch senior enjoys skiing, surfing, and mountain biking. He also competes with the Mount Washington ski team. Carlucci hopes to find a college in New England where he can continue skiing. | |
Kyle Ewanouski, BC High

Ewanouski, like Massey, achieved quite a bit in his freshman season. The 6-foot-1-inch, 195-pound Scituate resident won the giant slalom with a time of 55.67 seconds at the state championships at Wachusett Mountain. In the slalom, he finished seventh, clocking in with a time of 35.00 seconds. His efforts in both events helped the Eagles finish 11th in the overall team standings. Ewanouski is a three-sport athlete at BC High, playing both football and lacrosse to go along with his participation on the ski team. | |
Greg Hering, Natick

The top skier in the Ski East League for the second consecutive season, Hering produced two noteworthy performances in the state championships. He finished fifth in the giant slalom (56.39 seconds) and 11th in the slalom (35.62), which vaulted his Natick team to sixth overall in the team standings. Hering was third in Ski East as a sophomore and second as a freshman. Hering was class president as a sophomore, junior, and senior, and will graduate in the top five percent of his class. He helped found and then captained the school sailing team and enjoys skiing, sailing, cycling, and hiking in his free time. He is a member of the Waterville Valley Ski Team. Hering hopes to attend Cornell in the fall. | |
Chris Massey, Wellesley

Massey, 15, took the Massachusetts prep skiing scene by storm this season. Only a freshman, he placed second in the giant slalom (55.75 seconds) and fourth in the slalom (34.63 seconds). He was also tops in the Mass Bay East Ski League, winning the league championship. In 2005, Massey qualified for the Junior Olympics at Sunday River, Maine, and placed 10th in the Super G. In 2006, he placed fourth in the giant slalom and second in the slalom in the J2 finals, moving on to place seventh in the Eastern J2 Championships. Off the slopes, Massey enjoys drumming for the school jazz band and rowing for a local crew team. | |
Jackson McCloy, Concord-Carlisle

McCloy helped the Concord-Carlisle team finish an EMass-best third at the Nordic state championships at Prospect Mountain in Woodford, Vt. He finished the state championship race in 20 minutes 19 seconds, which placed him 12th overall and third among skiers from EMass. He is a three-year league all-star and captained the Concord-Carlisle team during this season. McCloy has garnered a departmental award for biology in school and also runs cross-country and plays soccer for Concord-Carlisle. The 5-foot-11-inch senior said his college plans are simply somewhere with snow. | |

It will be hard for Rummel, a junior, to top this season in his senior campaign. Rummel finished first at the Nordic state championships in Woodford, Vt., clocking in at 19 minutes 8 seconds. He also took home first place in the Mass Bay East Ski League and the Weston Sprints. The 6-foot, 170-pound Rummel is an honor roll student and also runs cross-country and plays lacrosse for Dover-Sherborn. He lists soccer as his main hobby. In the summer, he plays his club sports at Cambridge Sports Union. He hopes to continue skiing in college. | |

Katy Belanger, Chelmsford

Belanger did the nearly impossible: She improved on her 2005 season. After finishing third in the slalom and ninth in the giant slalom in the state championships last year, she won the slalom (35.68 seconds) and finished sixth in the giant slalom (61.11 seconds). She finished first in the Mass Bay West Alpha Division for the third time, including her freshman and junior seasons. She was second as a sophomore. Belanger also captained the field hockey team, where she starred from her center back position. A high honors student, she hopes to study pre-med at either St. Michaels or Holy Cross. | |

Ashley Hawes, Concord-Carlisle

Hawes was nearly flawless in her senior season. Save for a disqualification in the slalom at the state championships, Hawes won every major race she competed in. She won the Dual County League title, and was undefeated during the regular season. Hawes won the giant slalom at the state championships, finishing more than a second ahead of the second-place skier with a time of 58.8 seconds. It was her second consecutive state title in the giant slalom. She also races for Waterville Valley. This is her second consecutive All-Scholastic selection. Hawes also plays softball and field hockey for Concord-Carlisle. | |
Cassi Knight, Concord-Carlisle

Knight, a two-time All-Scholastic for cross-country, teamed with Pearl to help Concord-Carlisle to a banner year. She finished second to Stephanie Pearl in the individual competition at the Dual County League championships, helping to lift Concord-Carlisle to the title. Her 10th-place finish at the state championships (24 minutes 39 seconds) contributed to her teams second-place finish. She is a member of the National Honor Society and she enjoys music and singing in an a cappella group. She will attend Colby in the fall. | |

Malcom took the momentum she built finishing first in the Mass Bay East League and winning the Weston Sprints and turned in a seventh-place performance at the state championships. She finished with a time of 24 minutes 14 seconds in the race, which was good enough for second among EMass racers. Her performances earned her a spot on the Massachusetts team that competed at the Eastern High School Championships. An honor roll student, Malcom enjoys running and sailing in her spare time. She is undecided about her college plans but hopes to ski competitively wherever she studies. | |
Amanda Morrissey, ND-Hingham

Give Morrissey a high five for her performance at this years state championship race at Wachusett Mountain. In the slalom competition, she took fifth place with a time of 37.86 seconds. In the giant slalom, Morrissey turned in another fifth-place effort, finishing in 60.88 seconds. Her efforts look even more impressive when you consider there were more than 150 competitors. During the regular season, Morrissey was the Ski East League champion, the third time she has accomplished that feat. Also an All-Scholastic golfer, she was the individual North League champion in 2005 and is undefeated during her high school career. | |

Nolan is back for her second appearance on the All-Scholastic ski team. A junior, Nolan had another outstanding postseason. Nolan finished third in the giant slalom in 60.39 seconds at Wachusett Mountain. In the slalom, Nolan took seventh in 38.24 seconds. Last winter she took eighth-place in both events. | |
Stephanie Pearl, Concord-Carlisle

This is Pearls second consecutive All-Scholastic selection. The Dual County League champion took her talents to the state championships in Woodford, Vt., and finished third, clocking in with a time of 23 minutes 5 seconds. Her performance helped Concord-Carlisle finish second overall. She finished second at the Weston Sprints, which helped to boost her team to the overall title. The 5-foot-5-inch senior has been a high honors student for four years and has a 4.19 weighted GPA. She is a four-time DCL All-Star in track and holds the school record in the mile (5:10). She has also played varsity soccer for four years. In her free time, she enjoys playing tenor saxophone and piano and hanging out with friends. | |
