The Super Team

senior / center

Mike Clifford, Bishop Fenwick

The 6-foot-7-inch center averaged 26.3 points and 18.5 rebounds this season. Clifford had 1,707 points and 1,250 rebounds in his career, and is the only Crusader in history with more than 1,000 of each. He has committed to the University of Buffalo.

Bill Marsden, Central Catholic

Marsden was named co-MVP of the Merrimack Valley Conference with teammate Carson Desrosiers. He scored more than 1,000 points and helped win a 2008 Division 1 state title. He’ll attend Southern New Hampshire this fall.

Marcus McDermott, Milton

The MVP of the Bay State League’s Herget Division led Milton to the Division 2 state title, averaging 21 points in six playoff games. The 6-foot point guard, who averaged 17.7 points this season, is undecided on college plans.

Kyle Stockmal, Watertown

Watertown’s all-time leading scorer with 1,650 points won Division 3 state championships in both 2007 and 2009 with the Raiders. The 6-foot-3-inch guard will attend New York University with his twin brother, Cory, this fall.

Ryan Woumn, Lynn English

The MVP of the Northeastern Conference averaged 22.5 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds for the Division 1 EMass champion Bulldogs. The 6-foot-2-inch point guard is a twotime NEC All-Star and has led English to three straight league crowns.

Coaches of the Year

division 1

Buzzy Barton

In his third season, the Northeastern Conference Coach of the Year led the Bulldogs to a 25-3 record and a Division 1 EMass championship. He has a 60-10 career record, including three consecutive conference championships.
division 2

Sean LoPresti, Milton

In his ninth season, LoPresti led Milton to a 22-4 record, a Bay State Herget Division title, and the Division 2 state title. The coach of the year in the Herget Division said team chemistry was his squad’s biggest strength.
division 3

Don Byron, Abington

Byron led the Green Wave to a 19-1 regular-season record and the Division 3 South title this season, saying his players had ‘‘a knack for playing their best when the stakes were highest.’’ He has 303 career wins in 35 seasons of coaching.
division 4

Dave Brown, Winthrop

Brown has an 80-80 record in seven seasons as a head coach, but led the Vikings to the Northeastern Conference South title, an appearance in the Division 4 North final, and a 21-5 record this winter. He was the 2008 NEC Coach of the Year.

Rodney Beldo, Scituate

The 5-foot-9-inch point guard averaged 22 points this season and was named the MVP of the Jason Mazzeo Tournament. A two-time All-Scholastic, Beldo has scored more than 1,000 career points and has one more season to build on his total.

Darius Carter, Dorchester

Carter led EMass in scoring, averaging 30 points per game this season. He notched more than 1,000 points during his career. The 6-foot point guard tallied a career-high 50 points during a win over Hyde Park Feb. 4. Carter will attend prep school.

Jerome Cohen, Everett

Cohen averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds this season and scored 1,150 points during his career. The two-time All-Scholastic was also a two-time MVP of the Greater Boston League. He is undecided on his college plans.

Carson Desrosiers, Central Catholic

Central Catholic, Junior, center The 6-foot-10-inch center was co- MVP of the Merrimack Valley Conference. He led the Raiders to wins in the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tournament and the Comcast Tournament and an appearance in the Division 1 North final.

Allen Harris, Catholic Memorial

Harris averaged 25 points and 11 rebounds and was MVP of the Catholic Conference. After helping lead the Knights to the 2008 Division 2 state title he led the team to the South final this season. He will attend Suffield Academy in the fall.

Greg Kelley, Newton North

The 6-foot-8-inch forward averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds this season and helped lead the Tigers to the Division 1 South final. A three-year starter at Newton North, Kelley won the Sportsmanship Award at the Comcast Tournament.

Peter Lynch, Westford Academy

The forward averaged 19.6 points and 7.1 rebounds this season and was named MVP of the Dual County League. The four-year starter finished with 1,219 points, a school record. He will attend Middlebury this fall.

Louis Montes, Brockton

The 6-foot-7-inch power forward averaged 16 points and eight rebounds for the Boxers, who finished the regular season 20-0 and captured the Division 1 South sectional title before falling at the Garden. Montes will attend prep school this fall.

Dan O'Keefe, Lexington

O’Keefe was co-MVP of the Middlesex League and helped the Minutemen go 19-1 in winning the league title. The 6-5 forward also helped Lexington advance to the Division 1 North semifinals. He will attend Bentley this fall.

Hanell Velez, Woburn

The 6-foot-5-inch swingman averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds and was named co-MVP of the Middlesex League. Velez, who led Woburn to the Division 2 North title and is the leading scorer in team history, will attend Southern New Hampshire.
