BROCKTON — Bridgewater-Raynham rallied to knock off the No. 1 seeded Walpole Rebels, 13-9, Wednesday afternoon, coming back from a 6-0 deficit after the first inning of the Division 1 South semifinals.
The Rebels chased Trojans’ starting pitcher Jack Connolly with their big first inning. A costly two-out error at second base allowed Walpole to keep the inning alive and score six runs. Even the large deficit and early call to the bullpen couldn’t discourage No. 5 seeded Bridgewater-Raynham however.
Coach John Kearney told his team after the first inning that there was still plenty of baseball to be played.
“I called everybody up and just said ‘you know, there’s a long way to go and let’s regroup,’ ” he said.
