Boys’ basketball players of the week

Scott Alexander, Carver — In a 62-60 win over Hull, the senior forward scored more than half his team points, throwing down 36 in the South Shore League contest Friday.

Tucker Bouchard, Silver Lake — The senior forward scored his 1,000th career point on a jumper from the top of the key on Friday as the Lakers beat Whitman-Hanson, 66-63. He finished with 27 points to lead all scorers and added five rebounds.

Khaneil Bruce, Pope John — In three games the junior forward averaged 31.7 points and 17 rebounds as Pope John beat Northeast and Cristo Rey, but lost to Matignon.

Drex Costello, St. John’s Prep — The 6-foot-2-inch senior guard led the Eagles with 20 points in their 59-54 win over Catholic Memorial Friday, clinching the Catholic Conference title. In a showdown against No. 4 Central Catholic on Sunday, Costello led the Eagles with 13 points en route to a thrilling 55-52 victory.
