Globe South: Players of the week, top 10 boys’ and girls’ basketball teams

High 5

Caitlyn Abela , Oliver Ames: Consistent with her season average, the Sacred Heart-bound senior put up 20.5 points per game in the Tigers’ last four contests. Abela’s squad suffered its first loss of the season, 61-55, to Medfield on Wednesday, but she reached the 1,000-point plateau in the second quarter.

Brenna Diggins , Norwell: The 6-foot-2 senior center carried the team to three wins in four tries, averaging 18 points and nine rebounds in the wins. Her 11-point, seven-rebound performance against Mashpee gave her 1,000 career boards and made her the lone member of the school’s 1,000-point, 1,000-rebound club.

Shane Haggerty , Cohasset: The Skippers wrapped up their regular season with a 17-4 mark thanks to the senior captain’s average of 18 points per game in three wins in the final week. He had team highs vs. Mashpee (22 points), East Bridgewater (18), and Nauset (14).

Michela North , Duxbury: The Dragons were on their way to a four-win week until they ran into Braintree, but in three big wins the 6-foot-2 forward averaged more than 15 points per game. Her team-high 13 vs. Whitman-Hanson helped the team to a perfect 13-0 Patriot League record.

Paul Preziosi , Cardinal Spellman: In a busy — and perfect — four-game week for team that included being crowned Medway Tournament champs, the senior captain scored double digits on three occasions. His team-high 17 points vs. Arlington Catholic boosted the Cardinals to the Catholic Central League title, again.
