Greater Lowell Technical, the reigning Commonwealth Athletic Conference boys’ basketball champions, defeated host Greater New Bedford Technical, 82-65, to claim the Vocational Championship.
The third-seeded Gryphons (17-5) were led by junior guards Angelo Pilato (22 points and four rebounds) and Gbah Dualu (22 points, eight steals, and two assists) in a field of four teams that included third seeded Greater Lawrence and fourth-seeded Assabet Valley Vocational.
Dualu, the target of a box and one defensive scheme by the Bears, sparked the Gryphons to a 25-10 first quarter lead after scoring their first seven points.
