A look at some of the top games on tap this winter. Fans should call ahead and confirm dates and times.
BABC/Stop & Shop Holiday Classic, Dec. 27-29: Chelsea again will play host to one of the top holiday tournaments. From local powers (Newton North, Cambridge) to out-of-state powers (New Jersey's Don Bosco, Connecticut's Wilbur Cross), this tournament has it all. Games start at 9:30 a.m.
Charlestown at East Boston (Jan. 5): Few games all season are played at the pace and intensity of an East Boston-Charlestown matchup.
Newton North at New Bedford (Jan. 15): The last time these powers met was in the Division 1 South final, where Newton North came away with an 88-84 victory.
New Bedford vs. Durfee: Whether the game is in New Bedford (Jan. 6) or Fall River (Feb. 7), a season isn't complete without catching one of the best rivalries in the state.
Magic32 Hoophall Classic (Jan. 13-16): This tournament features more than 40 teams from across the country, including six of the top programs in the nation, such as Oak Hill Academy (Virginia) and DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, Md.). Held at Springfield College, it also includes local schools Central Catholic (boys and girls), Charlestown (boys), and Lawrence (boys). Go to www.magic32usa.com for more information.
